Elizabeth Burstein

Principal

Elizabeth Burstein focuses on consumer marketplaces, retail innovation, digital health, and enterprise automation. Prior to joining Wildcat, Liz spent four years in product management at LinkedIn, where she shipped many core products across both the consumer and enterprise side of the business.

Liz started her product management career working on LinkedIn Recruiter, LinkedIn’s highest revenue generating product. Key launches included an overhaul of the homepage, the first mobile recruiting app, and CheckIn for university career fairs. She then transitioned to the consumer side, where she led the redesign of LinkedIn’s desktop homepage and messaging product. The latter was one of the most impactful page redesigns in LinkedIn’s history, having 5x’d feed connections and 15x’d feed follows. As an investor, Liz looks for measurable high impact launches as signals of startup traction. Liz also served on the Patent Council and received 4 US patents for the technologies behind these launches.

Liz previously worked as a patent engineer at Schox Patent Group and Osha Liang LLP, where she wrote patents, participated in USPTO interviews, and authored her own patent app in the e-commerce innovation space.

When studying Computer Science at Stanford, Liz pursued her passions in health tech at the Stanford Genome Technology Center and Blau Lab for stem cell research. Her senior project on ad hoc mesh networking received the Apple Innovation Award and a Google grant for future development. She also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Stanford Scientific Magazine and President of Stanford’s Cap and Gown Society.
